SCOTACS Supervision in Practice
Presented by Marilyn Christie and Mary Maxwell
This course is designed to introduce therapists to the way of being and skills necessary to practise as both an individual and group supervisor in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy. The integrative content of the course will be useful to applicants interested in beginning their journey as a supervisor of any modality or to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of those already in supervision practice.
This training is devised to appeal to therapists who are new to the field of supervision practice and to those who already have experience as supervisors.
The content of the course meets the training requirements for supervisors to fulfil the Competence Framework for the Supervision of Psychological Therapies.
The Supervision course will provide participants with sufficient training hours to meet the Supervisor accreditation requirements of BABCP. It will also allow participants to begin to accumulate the requisite skills hours to apply for accreditation as a supervisor. As well as preparing therapists for accreditation as a supervisor, the hours will also count as Continuous Professional Development.
On successful completion of the supervision course you will be awarded a Certificate from COSCA to recognize your achievement.
To apply, counsellors and/or psychotherapists require to have two years of post-qualification experience. If your experience is marginally below two years, your eligibility may be discussed with the course facilitators prior to submitting an application.
