SCOTACS Supervision in Practice

Course Level: Validated by COSCA

Presented by Sandra McKenzie and Gemma Richardson

This excellent course was written in 2014 for exclusive use by the Centre of Therapy and has been designed to introduce therapists to the way of being and skills necessary to practise as both an individual and group supervisor in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy. The integrative content of the course will be useful to applicants interested in beginning their journey as a supervisor of any modality or to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitude of those already in supervision practice.

This training is devised to appeal to therapists who are new to the field of supervision practice and to those who already have experience as supervisors.

On successful completion of the supervision course you will be awarded a Certificate from COSCA to recognize your achievement.

The Supervision course will provide participants with sufficient training hours to meet the Supervisor accreditation requirements of BABCP. It will also allow participants to begin to accumulate the requisite skills hours to apply for accreditation as a supervisor. As well as preparing therapists for accreditation as a supervisor, the hours will also count as Continuous Professional Development.

To apply, counsellors and/or psychotherapists require to have two years of post-qualification experience. If your experience is marginally below two years, your eligibility may be discussed with the course facilitators prior to submitting an application.
