Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a natural state which we all experience during the course of our day. It is similar to day dreaming with a feeling of deep relaxation.
Hypnotherapy is the purposeful use of this relaxed and focused state to help access the unconscious mind where habitual and often stressful patterns of thinking and behaviour, often from early childhood, are causing us problems in the present. This raises awareness and creates choices which were previously hidden and is a powerful catalyst to change.
Contrary to popular belief the experience of hypnosis is one of remaining in control at all times as we remain aware of what is happening and can open our eyes at any time throughout the process (though we should feel we don’t want to).
Hypnotherapy can also be effective when integrated with other methods of therapy.
It is useful in treating:
- stress
- anxiety
- panic
- phobias
- unwanted habits and addictions
- low self-esteem
- physical conditions (irritable bowel syndrome, pain management)
- public speaking
- sports performance
